My Mediterranean Adventure with Oceania Cruises

Oceania Cruises Riviera

Embarking on a Mediterranean cruise with Oceania is like stepping into a vivid tapestry of cultures, histories, and landscapes. There is no better way to explore it than on the elegant ships of Oceania. Known for having “the Finest Cuisine at Sea”, they certainly didn’t disappoint. Oceania’s cabins possess an esthetic on par with world-class hotels. This includes the exclusive Ultra Tranquility Bed, marble and granite-clad bathrooms and shower,  absolutely Incredible.

Rome, the Eternal City

Starting in the eternal city of Rome, one can immerse themselves in history, from the grandeur of the Colosseum to the timelessness of Vatican City. The cobbled streets and bustling piazzas offer endless exploration, while the local cuisine provides a delightful culinary journey.

In Rome you can revel in magnificent monuments, from the ancient Roman Forum and Coliseum to the splendor of St. Peter’s Basilica with Michelangelo’s Pietà and his breathtaking frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. Or enjoy a drive through the lush farmlands of the Roman countryside to lovely medieval Castelgandolfo.

Sorrento & Catania

Sorrento is an attractive village that acts somewhat as a gateway to the Amalfi Coast for visitors arriving in the Bay of Naples. Best-known for its own unique variety of lemons that are as large as melons. One of the best things we did was a tour to the ruined city of Pompeii. This former Roman city was buried in ash during the last eruption of Mount Vesuvius close to two millennia ago and now a visit to the town is like stepping straight back in time due to the fact that the city is so well preserved!

Catania is Nestled under the shadow of Mount Etna in the East, Catania is Sicily’s second-largest city, lying on the lonian sea. Mount Etna is ever-present and makes for breath-taking tour. The City’s architecture is a testament to its history of destruction and renewal. Catania’s old town is fairly small and ideal for walking. Many Historic buildings to see and visit.

Rome Coliseum

Valleta & Katakolon

Valletta, the capital of the island of Malta, is another gem in the Mediterranean. The peaceful Three Cities of Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua are just across the harbor. This was where the Knights of Saint John were based while they built Valletta, so their buildings are older than in the city, but have a similar style, with colorful doors, tubs of flowers, wrought ironwork and narrow streets.

Katakolon, is a picturesque fishing village in the western Peloponnese in Greece. Take a stroll past Fisherman’s Cabins and admire cute, colorful small Villas. Walk the harbor and take in the views while grabbing a few souvenirs or enjoy some delicious food. Beautiful

Corfu & Dobrovnik

Corfu, located in the northwest off the coast of Albania lies the beautiful island of Corfu, Greece. Corfu is one of the furthest north islands in the entire country and belongs to the network of islands in this area called the Ionian Islands.  Boat tours to the Blue Caves is a must when visiting Corfu, absolutely Beautiful.

Dubrovnik, Croatia is loaded with Adventure, with its magnificent Old Town, sandy beaches, rich history, Game of Thrones fame, and all-around charm, falling in love with this place is easy!

Montenegro & Venice

Montenegro, with its stunning Bay of Kotor, is a hidden treasure. The blend of natural beauty and medieval architecture in towns like Kotor creates a fairy-tale-like setting. Dubrovnik and Split in Croatia continue this theme, with Dubrovnik’s famous city walls and Split’s Diocletian’s Palace showcasing the Adriatic’s rich history.

Venice – There’s something extremely charming about Venice. Imagine strolling down alleyways, eating authentic gelato while window shopping for Italian leather handbags, and don’t forget about the unique gondola rides through the charming canals. Whether it’s the Basilica di San Marco located in the heart of the Piazza San Marco, the Rialto Bridge, or the Ponte dei Sospiri, there is so much history to be seen on this magical little island.
